Apple's 2024 Pride Collection is Here!
In its continued effort to champion global movements for equality, Apple has unveiled its 2024 Pride Collection, designed to celebrate and support LGBTQ+ communities worldwide. This year’s collection features a new Apple Watch Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop, which will be available to order from 22 May. Alongside the band, Apple is introducing a matching watch face and dynamic wallpapers for iOS and iPadOS, showcasing a spectrum of colours that represent the vibrancy and diversity of LGBTQ+ communities.
Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion
The 2024 Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop is a tribute to the strength and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities. The band’s design draws inspiration from multiple pride flags, featuring vibrant, fluorescent colours that make a bold statement. Notably, the band includes a laser-etched lug reading “PRIDE 2024”. The colours black and brown acknowledge Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS, while the pink, light blue, and white hues represent transgender and non-binary individuals.
Customisable Pride Watch Face and Wallpapers
For the first time, Apple’s Pride watch face and wallpapers can be customised to reflect the user’s identity and expression. The new Pride Radiance watch face and iOS and iPadOS wallpapers are more than just colourful additions; they are symbols of hope, strength, and fellowship. The beams of light, glowing against a dark background, stack upon each other, symbolising the enduring impact of LGBTQ+ activism and its role in guiding the path to greater equality for future generations.
Users can personalise their watch face with a spectrum of colours that react in real-time based on wrist movements, thanks to the Apple Watch’s gyroscope. On iPhone and iPad, dynamic beams of colour spell out “Pride” and move when the device is unlocked, bringing the celebration of Pride to life on your screen.
Celebrating LGBTQ+ Advocacy
Apple’s commitment to the LGBTQ+ community goes beyond aesthetics. Through the Pride Collection, Apple continues to support organisations dedicated to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. These include ILGA World, a global federation advancing the rights of LGBTQ+ people, and the Human Rights Campaign, which strives to ensure all LGBTQ+ individuals are treated as equal citizens. Other supported organisations include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, GLSEN, Equality Federation, the National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL, and The Trevor Project.
Availability
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop will be available to order on apple.com and through the Apple Store app starting 22 May, and will be available in Apple Store locations in the U.S. and Canada on the same day, with availability in other regions starting 23 May. The band is priced at $99 (U.S.) and is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or later.
The new Pride Radiance watch face and iPhone and iPad wallpapers will be available soon with watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5. Customers can download the matching Pride Radiance watch face through the Apple Watch app, on the Apple Store app, or at apple.com.
Apple’s 2024 Pride Collection not only shines a light on the LGBTQ+ community but also underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equality.
